The Minister of Health, Danica Grujičić, announced today that free sensors will be available for all children up to the age of 18 on insulin therapy with unstable diabetes (diabetes type 1), and that in the next loan from the World Bank, it is planned to build a hotel in Bukovička Banja, where both parents to spend three weeks with their diabetic child and undergo all the necessary education.

“Now, unfortunately, there can only be one parent, and I think that’s not good. Sometimes even older brothers and sisters need to be trained to take care of the younger ones. I think it will be a very nice project, and I hope that in the next five years and be finished,” said the Minister of Health for Tanjug.

Speaking about the plan to build the facility in Bukovička banja, Grujičić said that there both parents will receive all the necessary education on how to recognize the first symptoms of diabetes in a child, when blood sugar drops and rises, when a complication develops, as well as advice on which physical activity and to what extent children with diabetes should be engaged.
