Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation is the main activity of our institution.
It represents the process of bringing people to their maximum or optimal physical, physiological and psychosocial capabilities. The main goals that guide the implementation of the rehabilitation are:preventing hendicap-disability, rehabilitation of the handicapped to compensate and adapt to the existing medical condition. Our priorities are to improve life quality and training for daily living activities.
While implementing the rehabilitation program, we are using all types of physical therapy in combination with balneological characteristics of natural mineral water and clay. Our workplace provides care which resembles outpatient and stationary organization.
Outpatient services
which are located on the ground floor of the Special Hospital, offer check ups by specialists in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, diagnosis and implementation of the prescribed treatment protocol of our physiotherapy team.
Latest procedures in physical therapy and balneotherapy are applied in special hospital medical offices; those therapies are: electrotherapy, kinesiotherapy, occupational therapy, phototherapy, mechano-therapy, hydrotherapy, thermotherapy, therapy by natural healing-clay and mineral water.
Ultrasound diagnosis
of skeletal, joint and muscular system is an integral part of the provided specialist examination. It’s most commonly used in the diagnosis of inflammatory, degenerative and extraarticular rheumatic diseases as well as in sports injuries.
Office Hours Infirmary - Outpatient services on weekdays from 7:00AM - 8:00PM on Saturdays from 7:00AM to 2:30 PM.
The Department for Adult Rehabilitation is located on the first floor of the Hospital and has a capacity of 70 beds. The program for extended residential rehabilitation services offers all patients a 24-hour medical supervision, which includes consultative, therapeutic procedures prescribed by physical medicine and rehabilitation, accommodation and meals at the hospital’s restaurant. This type of organization allows providing complete health services to all our patients. Our service mission is a complete patient satisfaction with the services provided and objective rehabilitation results. Rehabilitation team includes: physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, nutritionists, psychologists and, if necessary, other areas specialists (orthopedist, neurologist, rheumatologist, neurosurgeon), patient and family.
Rehabilitation of children
The Special Hospital “Bukovička spa” is one of six institutions in the Republic of Serbia which is performing extended inpatient rehabilitation of children and young adults. This Hospital offers the rehabilitation of children for more than 20 years. Rehabilitation of children is training of children until they reach their full physical, mental, social and occupational maturity, which they can attain using their individual abilities and capabilities.
Specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation are engaged in a systematic examination of children and adolescents, using the diagnosis of developmental deformities of the spine, chest and extremities and continuous monitoring of the success of their treatment by the treatment of an individual or organized group training with children.
